Abstract

The concentrations of dust, hydrogen chloride, sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from solid waste incinerators are regulated in Japan. Some other countries have regulations or guidelines for other flue gas components. These are hydrogen fluoride, heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead, cyanide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, total organic carbon, poly aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins, etc. Here, the countermeasures for dioxin emissions are mentioned in detail, and mercury, fluoride, boron and chloro-fluoro-carbon in flue gas are briefly discussed.

Key words: non-regulated, flue gas, MSW incineration
