Abstract

Global environmental problems such as global warming, acid rain, destruction of tropical rainforests, and ocean pollution are closely related to waste disposal. This report explains various relevant points regarding global warming caused by waste disposal. Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and chlore-fluoro carbons are greenhouse gases. These gases generated from waste disposal facilities are not negligible and some of thses gases may contribute significantly to the effect. Therefore more accurate estimation and evaluation are important task. Here sampling and analytical measurement methods including our proposed methods for greenhouse gases are reviewed and evaluated. And also, countermeasures for global warming problems are proposed.

Key words: global warming, greenhouse gases, waste management, methane, nitrous oxide
