Abstract

The various problems of waste disposal have become extremely serious. First, sites for landfill have decreased while the volume of discharged wastes has increased. Second, the landfill sites have caused environmental pollution due to the increasingly damaging quelity of wastes. In Japan, up to data the cases of environmental pollution caused by landfill sites have been scarcely disclosed. But I introduce several cases at various places in Japan. In order to solve the problems of waste disposal, I propose a concept of Eco-System Management for sanitary landfilling, because it is necessary to establish social systems of resource circulation, changing from the current waste disposal systems for incineration and landfilling.
