Odor Problem in Final Disposal Site

Abstract

Final disposal sites are of great necessity in supporting the basis of our life system. In order to insure promotion of the construction of the site, it is very important to solve odor problems for the site. We should investigate the countermeasures needed to clear away the exceptionability for the site. In this paper, several aspects of the odor problem are explained, such as the present situation of odor nuisance in Japan, characteristics of odor emitted from the site, environmental assessment for odor impact and odor control.
