Abstract

Treatment of animal waste, excreta, urine and cleaning waste water is one of the biggest problems in animal husbandry from the environmental point of view, especially in urban districts. A new way of resolution of this problem in urban districts is that animal waste water can be treated together with waste of residents using public sewerage. Three cases of such treatment in pig farms were surveyed in Kanagawa prefecture. And performance, as well as problems, of the treatment are described in the paper.
