Abstract
When a material exists solely, it only has its own potential hazard. However, sometimes it may become more dangerous apparently when it mixes with other hazardous material. This phenomenon is called areaction hazard caused by mixing. This paper describes topics concerning reaction hazards: statistics of accidents, kinds and degrees of hazards, and theoretical and experimental evaluation methods such as CHETAH, DTA, DSC, TG, ARC, RSST etc.
Key words: mixing hazard, ignition hazard, thermal analysis, CHETAH, RSST
