Abstract

According to the revision of "The Act of Waste Disposition" , the disposition of medical wastes is regulated. Nevertheless, the definition of infectious medical wastes and disposal method are uncertain, so that the concept of proper and lawful disposition of medical wastes is very confused. We cannot help but to say that the actual normal market is not constituted because of unsound low price competition among immoral medical wastes disposers. However, on the other hand, many good disposers carry on endeavoring for a truly proper and lawful disposition system. They have some concrete plans. For instance, the inauguration of a Medical Waste Technical Committee within the National Federation of Waste Management Association, the establishment of voluntary standards for infectious medical wastes disposition, and the making of self-check lists. For realization of these plans, a program for the promotion of proper and lawful disposition will be enforced.
