Abstract

Toxic chemicals such as endocrine disrupting chemicals have been detected in waste materials treatment systems. A procedure is proposed in this paper to evaluate and control these toxic chemicals. The necessity of traditional risk assessment and regulation is mentioned to validate the effect of these chemicals on the human body along the strategy of EPA. The persistent, bioaccumulaive and toxic chemicals are proposed by the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, EPA. Chemicals detected in the leachate are listed up along the PBT's concept. The validation of bioassay systems as guideline is discussed on the risk evaluation of mixture, environmental samples.
