Abstract

Historical research of the architectural design of incineration plants and its social background is important when making guidelines for designing the plants in future. The history of research around landscape and architectural design of urban infrastructures is reviewed. The history of architectural design of incineration plants and the tendency of design concepts in recent plants are shown. A clarification of perspectives and meaning for environmental design research about incineration plants is attempted.
