Abstract

A system to determine the hazardous priority of chemical substances in the environment was introduced, which evaluates the persistency, bioaccumulation and toxicity of chemicals. This report mentions the hazardous priority of the 75 endocrine disrupting like chemicals listed by the Environmental Agency, by using a scoring system proposed by the authors. As a result, pesticides, insecticides and by-products of incineration were ranked as highly hazardous.

Key words: persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic, scoring, hazardous priority.
