Abstract
To minimize the environmental impact of industrial wastes, many efforts have been made to increase thier utilization. Utilization in geotechnical fields, such as for structural fill and grouting, are effective solutions for decreasing disposal quantity, however technical issues such as chemical and mechanical properties have not necessarily been evaluated. To promote the waste utilization as a stable ground material, "the technical committee for industrial waste disposal and utilization" organized in the Japan Geotechnical Society has collected the latest information in Japan. In this paper, technical information including quantity, characteristics, and methods for effective utilization are summarized for three different kinds of industrial wastes; coal ashes, waste concrete and waste plastic polymers.
