Current Situation and Prospects for Urban Solid Waste in China

Abstract
This paper introduces the current situation for urban China's production and disposal of solid waste, and analyzes the problems that China is facing with regard to urban solid waste disposal. The results suggest comprehensive treatment and utilization of urban solid waste through resource recovery, legal and social mechanisms, and industrialization. Due to present conditions, future progress for a wide variety of technologies that deal with urban solid waste disposal will take place, along with development of the relevant industries.
